Thanks to those of you who completed our questionnaire following the September Green Monday. We have used your feedback regarding the events sustainability and aim to implement new initiatives into the setup of the next event. We have also passed on suggestions to the venue to help improve their sustainability as well.
We have targeted the most important and recurrent topics from your feedback, and aim to tackle them immediately:
(i) Bicycle storage - the venue will allow those of you who travel to the event by bike to store them in their cloakroom by the reception. As the venue currently has no specific storage facilities for bicycles we have found the following places very nearby the venue where you can securely lock your bike in the local area.
Portland Place
New Cavendish Street
(ii) Locally sourced produce - we are in conversation with the venue to see if the drinks selection they offer can be reviewed and changed with the main aim to find locally sourced alternatives. However, the venue ensures us that it only offers fair trade products throughout.
(iii) Energy and waste reduction - to achieve this we have requested output figures on both, and will set targets that we aim to reach by implementing energy and waste saving initiatives in partnership with the venue. We will also be looking to reduce the number of exclusive handouts at each event, and will make every effort to reuse leftover handouts at the following event.
(iv) Environmental policies - to see more about how the Cavendish addresses environmental issues please visit the following link: http://www.mayfaircavendish.com/green/. We will also embed a link to this page within the venue tab under each event.
Each month we will update you on what we have been doing to improve the events sustainability and keep you posted on this news feed.
